Orthodontics

In addition to family dentistry, you can also access orthodontic services at the Deck Dentistry office, performed by Dr. Greg Deck.

These orthodontic services include both conventional metal braces and clear braces delivered through the SureSmile Clear Aligner system.

There are pros and cons to both options, and both provide an effective treatment that will bring your teeth into alignment.

Conventional metal braces straighten the teeth using metal brackets that are bonded to the front of each tooth and held together by a thin piece of metal called an archwire. Archwires use shape memory that gently applies pressure to guide the teeth into place throughout the duration of treatment. While each treatment and each patient are different, tooth alignment using conventional metal braces usually takes between 12 and 24 months.

The SureSmile system produces very similar results to metal braces in most cases, but they are nearly invisible and use a completely different technology to align the teeth. SureSmile uses plastic aligners that are created by modelling a custom impression of your mouth that will be taken in your dentist office. As you wear them, the aligners apply gentle pressure on the teeth, slowly re-positioning them over time into the alignment that you’re looking for. Your dentist will recommend you wear each set of aligners for a week or two before moving to the next set.

SureSmile aligners are designed using the most up-to-date technologies and materials that fit your mouth comfortably, promote improved oral hygiene, and gently shift your teeth over time in a way that will deliver you the smile you’ve been looking for.

If you’re ready for a smile makeover, call the team at Deck Dental today. We’ll schedule an orthodontic consultation to discuss the benefits and drawbacks of both standard and clear braces, and work with you to determine the best option for your unique situation.
